Remote Learning
Remote Learning
In order to facilitate the ongoing education of the children at Stoke C of E Primary School during the Covid-19 pandemic, we have set up a programme of learning covering three tiers of absence:
- A child is absent for one day whilst isolating or waiting for the result of a Covid-19 test
- A child is absent for more than one day
- A bubble is required to isolate due to a case of Covid-19 in that bubble
During the current national lockdown which commenced on 5th January 2021 we currently have children of key workers and vulnerable children in school whilst all other children learn from home. Due to these circumstance the current delivery of education is via the Tier 2 absence protocol - however the teacher is available to the students at home throughout the day.
Every absence starts at Tier 1 - therefore the first 24 hours of absence is covered by the work provided in the 24-hour Learning Pack
If a child's absence continues after the first day we move to Tier 2, a bespoke, well-sequenced, curriculum led scheme of work which follows the delivery of the lessons in class. We realise the importance of aligning the remote learning with the learning that is happening in school. This work is provided via Google Classroom and will have links to a variety of resources covering all curriculum subjects. The teacher will feedback to the child isolating once a day.
At Tier 3 the whole bubble including the teacher will be self isolating for 14 days. Following the Tier 1 emergency provision, the teacher will plan and deliver all learning, following as much as possible the work that would have been taught in school. This work is provided via Google Classroom and will have links to variety of resources covering all curriculum subjects. The teacher will be available online from 9am to 3pm to provide support and feedback to pupils.
