Welcome to Oak Class 

 

We hope our class page will inspire you and provide a taste of how we learn using a wide range of experiences.

 

Autumn Term 2020

 

On Wednesday 11th November Year 5/6 walked to the War Memorial at Rewe to lay wreaths and take part in Armistice Day Service. A Poppy Wreath was laid at the Memorial from The Staff and Pupils of Stoke Canon Primary School. 

If a child belonged to an organisation then they were allowed to wear their uniform into school for the day eg. Guides, Brownies, Rainbows, Cubs, Scouts, Beavers and Boys Brigade.

Spring Term 2021

 

World Book Day

We had a Dutch Theme Day as well on World Book Day and some children entered a competition to make a book character out of a cardboard toilet roll centre.

Circuits- The children made sensory gardens using circuits.

SUMMER TERM 2021

 

Dance with Premier Sport.

Awards

Journey to Japan.

During the Summer Term the main theme was Japan and this was based on the Olympic Games in Japan.

There were a range of activities from our own School Games to making Sushi boxes and imitation sushi to working with a local artist to make our own Japanese landscape using different materials. This showed the landscape with the hills, river,pond and cherry trees.

Connecting the Culm. Making models of river erosion. A visit to the Culm and Killerton.

These are the entries which the children completed for the Royal Mail Postage Competition. The picture was of a hero or heroes of the coronavirus pandemic that the children would like to see on a postage stamp.

Yr 5/6 Production- "Porridge"

Leavers BBQ

The Year 6 had a rounders match  against the staff and then a BBQ supplied by the Friends of Stoke Canon School. Each pupil had a sweatshirt also presented to them as a leaving present.

Leavers Service

During the Leavers service each pupil was presented with a bible and the pupil of the year award was also presented.
