 PRE-SCHOOL

Opening Hours

Pre-School is open four full days each week during term time.  Our opening hours are:

Monday to Thursday (inclusive) - all day

Morning: 9.00 am-12.00 am.  Lunch club: 12.00 am-12.45 pm. Afternoon: 12.45 pm-3.15 pm

Pre-School is not currently open on Fridays.  However, we will review this if numbers increase and there is sufficient demand for a full Friday.

Unaccompanied children may start at Stoke Canon Pre-School from the age of 2.5 years.  Early Years Entitlement can be accepted as full or part payment towards 15 hours per child per week from the term following your child's 3rd birthday. Otherwise, our hourly rate is £3.62 (equivalent to Early Years Entitlement hourly rate). Children attending lunch club can either bring their own packed lunch or take advantage of healthy meals freshly prepared on the premises at an additional cost of £2.20 per meal.  Pre-School children are supervised by Pre-School staff during lunch time.

We also offer places for accompanied children aged 2 years but a parent/carer must stay on the premises during the time their child is attending Pre-School.

To arrange a viewing, a free taster session or to book a place, please contact us on 01392 841279 or email admin@stokecanon.devon.sch.uk.

Please see the Pre-School class page for further information and a downloadable Application for Admission form. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you would like any assistance with completing this form or have any questions.

We look forward to welcoming you and your child(ren) to our growing Pre-School which has been recognised as 'Good' by Ofsted and the Devon Early Years Team.

Julie Furniss, Pre-School Leader

Sheep on the cathedral green- 'Flock' project - 26 May 2011

Along with a number of other Devon schools, our year 5 and 6 pupils decorated 3 sheep (not real !) in the style of recognised artists, to commemorate the re-opening of the area. They were then displayed in the cathedral. It was a surreal site for Saturday morning shoppers and tourists ! Pictures above.

Learning Community Art Exhibition at Killerton - 08 April 2011

We are exhibiting canvases and plates that the year 5 and 6 pupils have decorated at the Clyst Vale Learning Community art exhibition at Killerton, daily through the Easter holiday from 11am-5pm. The children have studied traditional Devon 'slip' techniques and used some on their plates, which they have then glazed and fired. It really is worth a look.

'Drop the egg' Easter Challenge - 08 April 2011

Children designed an array of contraptions to enable an egg to survive a 2 metre drop- parachutes, eggs in foam or bubble wrap, sprung eggs, eggs suspended in water and even an egg in jelly ! There was a prize for best design and best looking design for each class. Year 6 were the most successful inventors- 85% of their eggs surviving the drop ! Photos above
