Congratulations to all those involved in raising this fantastic sum. The pupils who ran the sale in church, the year 5 class that raised over £500 for a sponsored silence, those who made donations and the church members who got involved with our appeal. Let's hope the money can make a difference.
Thank you for helping us 'Help Haiti'
When Hebe, age six, decided that she wanted to help the people of Haiti, it started something bigger and involved much of the school and village. A small stall selling her toys ended up as an afternoon of fun and madness that resulted in £570.50 being raised for the charity Shelterbox. Other members of the school and community donated toys, cake and refreshments. Children from the school organised games to play to help swell the funds. All the children in Ash Tree Class (year 5) took part in a sponsored silence and raised over £500 to add to the total for Shelterbox. This means we can fund two Shelterboxes, which we hope to track, giving the children the chance to see what good their kindness has done.
Many, many thanks to all that helped. Hebe and Sarah Poole
